Volunteer
We love our volunteers and there's always room for you at the Y!
Our volunteers serve as coaches, teach classes, lend a hand at family fun night, keep a watchful eye over children in our nursery, assist with event registration and more. If you've been looking for a worthy cause to support, we may have the right opportunity for you.
Here are just some of the ways you could be involved:
Festival Worker - Fun and games are had at the YMCA in both the winter and fall festivals. Help make these free community events a huge success and fun at the same time.
Lobby Greeter - Be our friendly face! Greet members as they enter the facility and direct persons who need assistance or information.
Team Coaches - Would you enjoy sharing your love of the game while teaching youngsters skills and values? Our coaches do exactly that. Volunteers are needed every season.
Soccer Referees - Would you enjoy sharing your love of the game while teaching youngsters fair play and values? Our referees do exactly that. Referees are needed every season.
Youth Activities Supervisor - Afternoons keep us hopping at the Y. Help us out by supervising youth activities here on-site. Fun activities include board games, Nintendo and movies.
After-School Program Aide - Have fun with kids aged 5-8 at our afterschool programs at Chatham, Rochester or Riverton Elementary Schools. Our Group Leaders can always use an extra hand or two!
Bowling Aide - Engage in a feel-good activity that really helps the participants of our Adapted Physical Education Program. Volunteers retrieve balls and keep score for persons who are blind.
Athletic Field Manager - Our fields need a lot of care to keep them in play-ready condition. We can use volunteers anytime from spring through fall.
Swim Instructor Aide - With so many little fish in our classes, our instructors can sometimes use a couple extra hands. If you like being in the water and enjoy helping kids learn new skills, this could be the perfect volunteer spot for you.
Phone Receptionist - Everyone likes to be greeted with a friendly voice. Help callers find the information they're looking for by assisting our Front Desk Attendant with the many calls that come into our center.
Laundry Services - We have towels galore! Volunteers help our Health Center Attendant with the washing, drying, folding and delivery of laundry.
Clerical Assistant- Assist a pool of secretaries and administrators with general clerical tasks, such as, copying, filing, folding, data entry and laminating.
Group Leader Aide - Keep things fun aftershool at our school age centers in Chatham, Rochester or Riverton elementary schools. Assist after school group leaders with activities for children ages 5-12.
Member Retention Associate - We love our members and need help showing them how important they are to us.
Member Communication Associate - Calling all you creative ones! Develop themes and maintain bulletin boards throughout the facility.
Photographer - Help us capture all the great things happening at the YMCA! Obtain photo permissions and take photographs for use in YMCA promotional materials.
