Healthy Kids Day
The YMCA of Springfield is hosting Healthy Kids Day at our lakefront outdoor Camp Wa-Kon-Tah site! Join us Saturday, April 30th to participate in many outdoor family friendly activities - kayaking, basketball shooting contests, GaGa Ball games, archery and much more! Registration required. We are excited to introduce our monthly calendar of events for families! All events are available at no cost for those with a family membership. We are offering fun ways for your family to get moving, be creative and spend time together - join us for Creation Station, Family Yoga Classes, Bounce House Bonanza and much more! Online reservations are required, and all events (except the Youth Fitness class) require families to participate together. Youth Events & Programs
At YMCA of Springfield’s Summer Day Camps, kids will develop new skills, explore interests, and build relationships that last a lifetime. We promise unforgettable experiences that incorporate a variety of enrichment activities, which could include archery, gymnastics, canoeing, arts & crafts, sports, group games, team building, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math), swimming, fieldtrips and more!
Kids Triathlon Training
In this program, the participants will be working on improving their technique and endurance in swimming, running, and biking. There will also be discussion on the importance of nutrition and sportsmanship. At the start of the course, the students will be instructed to submit a personal goal; for example: "I want to be able to complete the YMCA triathlon in June". Then, at the beginning of each class, we will set a goal for what we want to accomplish for the day's session. At the end of the class, the kids will assess how they are progressing towards achieving their goals.

The Kids Triathlon is all about building the “WOW” factor inside every kid…. whoever they are and wherever they are from. During At the YMCA Kids Triathlon, we inspire more kids to keep their minds and bodies active. The YMCA’s national initiative to improve families’ health and well-being, features a Kids Triathlon to motivate and teach families how to develop healthy routines at home. The 2022 Kids Triathlon will be celebrated on Saturday, June 4 at the Kerasotes YMCA.

School Age Care (SAC)
The YMCA offers care outside of class time for children in kindergarten through 6th grade in our local communities. Daily activities include group games, homework assistance, and free play. Each week also includes an arts/crafts activity or STEM project. Registration for the 2021/2022 school year is now open!
School Days Out
When school is out, the YMCA provides an adult supervised, safe place for your school-age child grades K-6 to come and have fun. Group activities are planned from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and include play, arts and crafts, games, swimming, and more. Drop-off begins at 7 a.m. and children must be picked up by 6 p.m. Pre-registration is required.

80s GLOW Spin for Strong Kids

Donations Accepted at the Door
Rucking(verb):walking with a weighted rucksack/backpack. It implies action, energy, & purpose. Rucking requires strength, endurance, & character & builds it too. In this 7-week program, you will learn the basics of rucking from an Army Veteran, while building your endurance & strength. As we meet at different parks in Springfield, you will learn how to properly pack your ruck & how to condition for trail hikes. Why Rucking? Rucking can burn up to 3x as many calories as walking. It is as simple as wearing a backpack/rucksack & walking. You can do it on trails & in urban settings. Rucking is also easily scalable by varying the amount of weight in your rucksack, distance & speed. If you are up for a challenge, this is the program for you.

This area is a dedicated enhanced performance training space. It is used for our program “Studio 7”: HIIT classes, “Back to Basics” classes, functional training and restorative classes. It is specifically designed to bring something brand new to Springfield and help you reach your fitness goal.
TRX is a form of suspension training that uses body weight exercises to develop strength, balance, flexibility and core stability simultaneously. It requires the use of the TRX Suspension Trainer, a performance training tool that leverages gravity and the user's body weight to complete the exercises.
