Our Y has been running the largest YMCA league in downstate, IL since 1975. Youth sports programs encourage healthy competition, the value of participating, team building & individual development. The Y's volunteer coaches emphasize skill development & always having fun! Parent volunteers are paramount to our success. Coaches will receive coaching drills, tips & a credit reimbursement. Teams are made from coaches putting together their teams or from a free agent pool. The games are Friday evenings for U4 & U14 divisions & Saturday mornings for U6-U12 divisions. U4 and U6 division will receive a free t-shirt, U7-U14 division is optional.

The basketball clinic is focused on shooting, dribbling and passing. Clinics will include scrimmages, small sided games, contests and competitions appropriate for age and ability. The clinic includes a free T-shirt. Limited capacity available, as we will close registration once we are at capacity for each group.

This tournament is for players entering 2nd grade through 5th grade. Prices are $30 per team. We are only accepting team registrations. Minimum of 3 players and maximum of 4 players. One adult may register an entire team. One adult must accompany the players to the tournament. This tournament includes a T-shirt for all participants and teams will play a minimum of 2 games. The YMCA is a great place to enhance your child's baseball skills, learn the rules, concepts, field layout, and player positions. Sportsmanship is emphasized and everyone plays. All games will be played during the week at LOLJOS sports complex on the UIS campus. 1 practice per week on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, OR Thursday, as well as 1 game per week.

Volleyball Clinics are held at the Kerasotes YMCA for youth ages 9-13. A well-rounded volleyball clinic focused on passing, setting, serving and hitting. Clinics will include skill development, contests and competitions! Prices are $60 for Members and $75 for Public, this clinic includes a T-shirt. Students will learn Traditional Okinawan Goju Ryu Karate & practical self-defense in this program. Over time, coordination will improve along with self-confidence, discipline, and self-respect. This class incorporates blocks, kicks, throws, punches, and age appropriate combat and self-defense techniques. A student?s rank will be earned by testing based upon hard work, effort, and the ability to meet the requirements for each rank. Classes are taught by tenured instructors and senior students who are ranked and recognized through the National Okinawan Goju Ryu Organization.

Tae Kwon Do
Tae Kwon Do is a Korean martial art. The techniques blend several ancient self-defense systems into a single dynamic one. Extensive kicking and footwork patterns characterize this Olympic sport! Our program stresses self-esteem, self-discipline, physical fitness, balance, flexibility and concentration. Families may receive multiple participant discounts.
