Emergency Child Care

During these difficult times, the YMCA of Springfield is prepared to provide childcare to essential personnel within our community. We will be operating under guidelines established by CDC, Department of Health, and YUSA in regards to cleaning and group sizes. Daily program activities will include active games, arts and crafts, table games, and a variety of physical exercises developed by our wellness staff. We also ask parents to send books and homework that staff will assist participants to complete during our morning and afternoon quiet times. Electronics are welcome if they are part of homework. Supplies from home MAY NOT be shared with other participants. Please send a lunch and afternoon snack as well as water bottle.

Downtown & Kerasotes

When District 186 or other area schools are out for a holiday, the YMCA makes every effort to provide programming for children in grades K-6. We provide a safe place for children to come and have fun. Drop-off begins at 7 a.m. and activities, including open recreation, group games, art, fitness, and swimming are planned from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Children must be picked up by 6 p.m. A fee is charged at registration. SDO registration forms will be available here on our website and in our facilities when the program is offered. We also often offer one-day camps for school days out in Chatham, Rochester, Riverton and Sherman-Williamsville, the schools where the YMCA operates the before and after school programs.

If your child or children have a day off school and you do not, please call the Downtown YMCA at 544-9846 to see if we are hosting a School Day Out Camp. We also post information on our Facebook page.
