Summer Camp with YMCA of Springfield will start June 29, provided we are in Phase 4. Until that time, we are providing full day Summer Care for school age children whose parents need to return to work. If you register for Summer Care and have already made payments towards summer camp for June, we will apply those payments, including deposits, to Summer Care fees. For all other families who have registered for camp in June, we will apply those payments, including deposits to the remaining weeks of camp in July and August.
Our care operates from 7am to 6pm and follows IDPH, CDC, and YUSA guidelines. At this time, we are accepting registrations for our Downtown and Kerasotes locations with care to begin June 1 and will open additional locations as we reach capacity. Please note: to restrict cross-contamination, once you have registered for a location, your child will be assigned a group and may not move groups or location until camp starts.
Summer camp at the Y is one of our favorite times of the year and although we are sad not to be able to start June 1, the safety of the families we serve is and has always been our number one priority. As our state opens back up, we know that families need childcare and although it is not a traditional summer camp day, we do have the ability to offer care that is exciting, nurturing, and fun. If you would like to know more about the care we are offering, we will host a Town Hall Zoom meeting on May 22 at 6 pm.
If you cannot attend the Town Hall, it will be recorded and available on our website.
