Endowment and planned giving!
Join the 1874 Club

In a world where the latest craze comes and goes so quickly, the YMCA lasts. The YMCA of  Springfield has been serving our community for over 140 years. It is values based, economically sound, responsive to our public, and capable of embracing and adapting to change.

The YMCA is a gift we have received, and one we must bequeath to future generations.

Many friends of the YMCA, our 1874 Club, are helping to extend its influence beyond their own lifetimes with gifts of assets to the YMCA’s permanent endowment. Members of our 1874 Club are helping to ensure the YMCA for decades to come. Endowed gifts may be directed to support the overall work of the YMCA or may be designated to support a specific YMCA program, branch or future growth. The Endowment Fund is managed by professional investment advisers  under the direction of our dedicated and knowledgeable Board of Trustees. We work to be the very best stewards of the funds entrusted to us to advance the mission of the YMCA.

Our nation’s tax laws provide incentives to encourage philanthropy in recognition of the singular role charitable organizations such as the YMCA play in meeting important needs in our society. The YMCA is a nonprofit 501c3 organization and registered with the State of Illinois. We have a current Certificate of Good Standing on file with the Secretary of State.
