At YMCA of Springfield’s Summer Day Camps, kids will develop new skills, explore interests, and build relationships that last a lifetime. We promise unforgettable experiences that incorporate a variety of enrichment activities, which could include archery, gymnastics, canoeing, arts & crafts, sports, group games, team building, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math), swimming, fieldtrips and more! Mix and match our weekly camp options for a fun-filled summer!

EXPLORER CAMPS

Campers dig into and explore special interests from science to literature to sports each week with this premium camp offering. Explorers Camp is located at our Downtown Branch and is a full day program that runs from 7:00am-6:00pm Monday-Friday.

KERASOTES CAMPS

Campers explore the world around them through daily camptivities such as art, drama, character development, swimming, fieldtrips, STEM projects and more! Camp Kerasotes is located at our Kerasotes Branch and is a full day program that runs from 7:00am-6:00pm Monday-Friday.

GYMNASTICS CAMPS

Campers will tumble and flip their way through weeks of camp in our beautiful gymnastics center! Gymnastics is a party group, and we love theme weeks and weekly pizza parties. Gymnastics Camp is located at our Downtown Branch and is a full day program.

CAMP WA-KON-TAH

Explore the outdoors at Camp Wa-Kon-Tah. Campers will participate in archery, canoeing, fishing, hiking, swimming, go on fieldtrips, play sports and so much more! Camp Wa-Kon-Tah is located on Lake Springfield near Chatham and is a full day camp that runs from 7:00am-6:00pm Monday-Friday.

COUNSELOR IN TRAINING (CIT) CAMPS

The YMCA is building professional role models! Kids ages 13-16 years old are invited to join our Counselors in Training program to build leadership skills and develop work ethic. Counselors in Training is located at our Downtown Branch and is a full day program that runs from 9:00am-4:00pm Monday-Friday.

SPORTS PERFORMANCE CAMPS:
Fundamentals of Strength Training

If you are a middle school athlete or HS athlete who wants to learn from a certified professional Strength & Conditioning coach this is the camp for you! This camp will be dedicated to understanding the fundamental movement patterns of the human body and how to safely and effectively improve athletic performance through resistance training methodology. We will breakdown technique and apply cues to enhance your form and allow you to execute these drills safely on your own. This camp will teach you the proper bio-mechanics in the following movements: squat, hinge, press, pull, rotation & sprinting.

Half/Full Day Camps, Continued

HORSESHOES BASEBALL CAMP

Designed for beginners to experienced players, camp will be divided by age & skill level into smaller groups. Hitting, fielding, throwing and base running skills will be taught through a variety of drills. Participants will get the opportunity to work closely with the collegiate players and coaching staff of the Springfield Lucky Horseshoes. Lunch will be included for our full day campers!

BASEBALL/SOFTBALL CAMP

This next level camp combines skill training with sports specific exercise that will help round out your training regimen and help you elevate your game to the next level. Our Sports Performance Director, Dayton, will be working closer with our campers on strength and conditioning. The future of sport relies on the ability to train both aspects of the game. Put yourself ahead of the competition by getting stronger and faster while also fine tuning your skills.

We will be partnering with The Hitting Center to make sure your athletes are getting the top level training necessary to improve skills.
