YMCA Swim Lessons
Swimming is a life-saving skill that should be accessible to all.
Swim Basics Ages 2 – 12 yrs
Students will learn personal water safety and achieve basic swimming competency by learning important water safety skills. Introduction and mastery of freestyle and backstroke will be a focus.
- Beginner (Ages 2-10)
This level builds comfort and confidence in the water, especially with swimming underwater. Perfect for first-time swimmers or those still getting used to the water - Intermediate (Ages 3-12)
For swimmers who are comfortable in the water but cannot yet swim independently. Focuses on body position, forward movement, and basic stroke introduction. - Advanced (Ages 5-12)
Ideal for swimmers who can swim independently and are ready to refine their technique. Emphasis is on stroke development, endurance, and swim readiness for more advanced levels. This class meets twice a week for continued progress and skill reinforcement.

Jr. SPY Ages 6 – 12
This class gives swimmers an idea of what it would be like to swim for SPY. Jr. SPY is for swimmers who are becoming or are proficient in all four strokes and interested in eventually swimming competitively but not quite ready for a full commitment of a year-round team experience. Jr. SPY swimmers who are members can also participate in home meets.
