The season lasts eight weeks, beginning August 6th. Teams are either made from coaches putting together teams, or from a free agent pool (individual registration) that we group players together on teams with similar ages to form a team. The season consists of 7 game weeks with all teams having a bye week Labor Day Weekend. Teams can be made up of elementary schools or zip codes. Coaches are encouraged to organize mid-week practice at their discretion. Typically, practice is once a week, and is at the discretion of the head coaches availability. They are usually between 5:30pm-7:30 Monday-Thursday and last between 45 minutes to an hour. The games will be on Friday evening/nights for the U4 &U14. U6-U12 games are played Saturday mornings. All games will be played at UIS-YMCA soccer fields.
The deadline to register for the fall soccer session is July 15th. You will be emailed or contacted by your coach one week before the season begins. If possible, please volunteer to coach! Volunteers will be given lessons and coaching education!
Here are some things to help get ready for soccer! Soccer cleats are optional, but they can help with grip on the grassy surface. Shin guards help by protecting the child’s shin, they are placed on the leg and are held in place by compression sleeved or by the long socks that go over the shin guard. Shin guards are mandatory for all players. If they have a soccer ball (size 3 is recommended until age 8), then size 4 for ages 8-12, then size 5 for ages 12 and older, please bring it to practices. Practices are optional, but highly recommended attending if possible.
You must “register” your player in the DOB category from September 1st 2021. During the registration process it will ask you to select the age division, if you would like your player to play UP a division then you may. We ask that competitive players or teams play up a division. Thank you!
